About this blog

Dedicated to helping self-employed consultants be successful, this blog is based on the premise that to be successful as a solo consultant, you need to be a savvy business owner in addition to being an expert. Content focuses on these topics:

  • Being a better consultant

  • Being a business

  • Marketing and business development

  • Money and profit: earn more, keep more!

These blog posts are written to help you be the best solopreneur that you can be. I promise to write with your best interests in mind and to think from your viewpoint because after 15 years as an independent consultant, I've walked in your shoes. That means you can expect practical advice and meaningful insight in every blog post. Occasionally I post guest blogs, but when I do, they’re full of practical tips and advice too.

More about me

I'm the founder and CEO of PrōKo Agency Inc., a modern talent model that matches Fortune 500 executives with professional consultants who specialize in org effectiveness. PrōKo's business model is similar to how Creative Artists Agency represents top actors in Hollywood.

In building the business over the last ten+ years, I've interviewed scores of consultants. For those my company selects to represent, I coach them on personal branding, promotion, and positioning. I also often advise people on the pros and cons of becoming a “free agent” or self-employed, a step I successfully took nearly 20 years ago.

Since starting this blog, I have also launched the Professional Independent Consultants of America (PICA), a national organization that provides education, tools, templates, and advice for self-employed professionals. There is a lot more content on PICA’s site so I encourage you to check it out. www.PICAnetwork.org

Before launching PrōKo, this blog, or PICA, I was a management consultant including 5 years with PwC Consulting and 15 years serving Fortune 500 clients such as Intuit, Clorox, Levi Strauss, NetApp, and Franklin Templeton Investments.

I have an MBA from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. When not working I enjoy traveling, skiing, golfing, flyingand riding my Ducati motorcycle.

Be your best,
